DESCRIPTION:Tuesday\, 31st March 2026 Going ahead as planned \nStanhope/Eastgate Circular  \nImportant:  In the event of bad weather walks may be cancelled\, changed or rescheduled for later in the same week.  Please consult the weardale.uk website from 8am on the morning of the walk to confirm the walk is going ahead.  Note we are often able to update the website the evening before. \nWalk Route: Park in the Dales Centre car park in Stanhope and walk westwards along the pavement on the north side of the A689 to the Greenfoot Holiday Home Park. Instead of turning up the lane\, carry on into the unpaved parking area and beyond through a series of fields and farms to Eastgate. Cross the A689 and walk 1/4 mile back towards Stanhope before turning right to cross the railway. Walk through a campsite between the railway and the River Wear back to Stanhope. \nDate: Tuesday\, 7th April 2026 \nStart time: 10.00 am               Estimated finish: 13.00 \nStarting point: Dales Centre car park – Stanhope \nDistance: 10 Km (6 miles); \nTime: Less than 3 hours. \nHeight gain:  Negligible. \nThe easy walk consists of footpaths\, pasture and quiet roads. \nLeader: Jamie Johnson. \nAll general enquiries about the group to David Towndrow 07485780121 \nWalks cost £1 to cover mountain rescue contribution. \nEquipment for this walk: walking boots and socks\, waterproofs\, small snack and drink\, walking poles or stick. \nDogs: Dogs are allowed on this walk but must be on a lead.  Please note there are a number of stiles that may present an issue for large dogs. \nPublic toilets:  Stanhope Dales Centre. \nOS maps.
