Wolsingham to Frosterley Circular – Weardale Tuesday Walks – this walk is going ahead as planned

£1Wolsingham to Frosterley Circular.
Meet at Wolsingham railway station carpark DL13 3BL for a 10.00 start. Approximate finish 1.00pm incl snack break.
The route from the carpark takes us a short way up Wears Bank before leaving the road to head west on the footpath to Ashes House, continuing through Towdy Potts, Sunniside, East and West Biggins farms. It circles at Harhope Quarry and returns through Landieu farm to the river bank and a flat walk back to Wolsingham.
Distance: 6 miles.
Ascent: 580 feet descent 600 feet.
Terrain: public road, farm tracks, footpaths and open pasture. Stiles and gates. The possibility of stock in fields.
Cut off points at Frosterley or Landieu bridge for the bus to Wolsingham.
Depending on the weather or other circumstances, on the day, the route may be reversed.
