Weardale Tuesday Walks.

Wolsingham 2026

An approximately 5.5 mile circular walk, through a mix of woodland and some open moor with good views.

Important:  In the event of bad weather walks may be cancelled, changed or rescheduled for later in the same week.  Please consult the weardale.uk website from 8am on the morning of the walk to confirm the walk is going ahead.  Note we are often able to update the website the evening before.

Meeting point: Wolsingham Town Hall.  Note Demesne car park now has a small charge and there may be roadworks on the bridge south towards the free car park at the railway station.

Walk commencing at 1000hrs.

Distance: approximately 5.5 miles

Duration: approximately 3 hours

Height gain: 200m.

Public toilets: Wolsingham.

 

The walk heads north west along Thornhope Beck towards Ladley Wood. Crossing the stream we head north east uphill towards High Fawnlees and then back towards Wolsingham via High Doctor Pasture and the Holy Well.

The route is suitable for dogs on leashes.

There will be a snack break during the walk.
