Witton-le-Wear and Fir Tree  19 August

This walk is going ahead as planned

Important:  In the event of bad weather walks may be cancelled, changed or rescheduled for later in the same week.  Please consult the weardale.uk website from 8am on the morning of the walk to  confirm the walk is going ahead.  Note we are often able to update the website the evening before.

Walk Route:

From Witton-le-Wear we follow Weardale Way NW along the Wear Valley up to Wadley Farm then head NE towards Fir Tree.  Heading SE towards Green Head then S to Gibbert Hills and Blakely Hall.  The final section is back into Witton with wonderful views towards Witton Castle.    There is a possibility to end the walk after 3 miles at Fir Tree (make arrangements to leave your car at Fir Tree and have someone take you to Witton as there are no obvious short cuts on this circular walk – walking down the A68 is not recommended).
