Westgate and Eastgate walk (part 1)Weardale Tuesday walks- this walk is going ahead as planned

If the weather ahead looks set fair it may be possible to confirm the walk is going ahead earlier than this.Walk Route: We explore the western part of the old Bishops Hunting Park . Initially climb through Slitt Woods past a series of waterfalls on the Middlehope Burn before turning east and a short but steep climb to West Rigg. Then follow the Weardale Way towards Northgate before turning onto The Pennine Journey and skirt round the Heights Quarry before dropping down back to Westgate. Generally on good paths but some sections of hassocky ground and one steep drop/ascent to Park burn .

Starting Point: Layby in Westgate on the A689 opposite the Holiday Park.
Moderate walk around 6 miles, 750 feet of ascent.
