Westgate to Blackhill Edge Trig

Walk Route: We follow the River Wear downstream to cross the footbridge at Brotherlee then climb steadily over an attractive footpath then a quad bike track to the trig point on Blackhill Edge. We follow a track down to the waterfall on the Swinhope Burn and over big dipper fields back into Westgate. Good views over the valley.

Starting Point: We meet at the parking area in Westgate which is opposite the caravan site and on the A689.

Walks cost £1 to cover costs (mountain rescue contribution, website hosting etc)
Toilets: The nearest public toilets are in St John Chapel and the Dales Centre Stanhope.

Accompanied children under 16 and accompanied vulnerable adults are welcome on this walk.
