Westgate to Slit woods– THIS WALK IS GOING AHEAD AS PLANNED
Westgate – Tuesday 30 September

Walk Route:
From Westgate we follow Weardale Way W along the Wear Valley up towards Daddry Shield, then NW towards Carr Brown pastures and Carr Brown moor. On rejoining the road we turn right down Middlehope Bank then SE to join Middlehope Burn and return to Westgate through Slit Woods.

Starting Point: We meet at Westgate at the back of the Hare and Hounds pub.
Parking is down the lane on the left just before the Hare & Hounds and just over the river on the left.

Walks cost £1 to cover costs and mountain rescue contribution.
Terrain: Mainly track and meadow with a short section of quiet road.
Toilets: The nearest public toilets are probably the Dale Centre at Stanhope.
Equipment for this walk: Walking boots and socks, waterproofs, small snack and drink.
Dogs: Dogs on a lead are permitted on this walk.
Accompanied children under 16 and accompanied vulnerable adults are welcome.
