Bollihope Valley Walk

Local residents and visitors to the dale are welcome on our walks
Walk Details: We climb up towards Hill End with excellent views along the Bollihope Valley and its shapely quarry spoil heaps, returning along an attractive section of the Bollihope Burn. The walk follows good tracks and paths except for one short steep slope down which can be difficult after rain and 800 yards of rough pasture at the end of the walk.

Start: The Bollihope picnic spot (NOT the picnic spot below Hill End). From Stanhope drive about 3.5 miles along the B6278 towards Middleton and Eggleston until the road dips steeply down to the Bollhope Burn, just after a large quarry on the left. Park on the grass on the right.

Walks cost £1 to cover expenses.
Toilets: The nearest toilets are in the Durham Dales Centre, Stanhope.
Equipment for this walk: Walking boots and socks, waterproofs, small snack and drink, walking poles or stick, hat gloves and scarf.
Dogs: Dogs on a short lead are welcome on this walk.
Accompanied children under 16 and accompanied vulnerable adults are welcome.
