Starting Point:  Pleasant Row  Daddry Shield. Turn left just after the bridge on A689 at Bridge End

A varied walk of c.6.8 miles Height gain: 800ft

Walk Route:  Starting with a gentle ascent on a good hard surface footpath past Saugh Shield to Windyside Pastures, we then cross Green Laws on pasture land including a short descent and subsequent ascent across Daddry Shield Burn. We then cross Chapel Race and Harthope Burn before reaching the good footpaths above St John’s Chapel. We reach Ireshopeburn via Ireshopeburn Plains before an easy return to Daddry Shield via St Johns Chapel

Short cut options are available avoiding the loop around Ireshopeburn Plains

Terrain: Good footpaths. One small section across open pasture. Route will be simplified if conditions not suitable taking in more tarmac roads.

Walks cost £1 to cover mountain rescue contribution.

Equipment for this walk: walking boots and socks, waterproofs, small snack and drink, walking poles or stick.

Dogs: Dogs are allowed on this walk but must be on a lead.

Toilets: Available in Daddry Shield and St John’s Chapel
