Walk 3rd June- Allenhead Towards Rookhope and High Haddock Stones Loop Going ahead as planned

Important:   In the event of bad weather walks may be cancelled, changed or rescheduled for later in the same week so consult the weardale.uk website from 8am on the morning of the walk.  (We are often able to update the website to say if the walk is going ahead the evening before).

Starting Point:  Allenhead near Hemmel Cafe

PARKING Allenhead – Park round corner from Hemmel Cafe (not the few spaces by the old mining engine, but a few yards further round the corner to the right)

TOILETS: Available at Allenhead.

WALK ROUTE: (draft – further details later)  Walk up the road towards Rookhope. Turn left before the county boundary past disused quarries towards High Haddock Stones. Turn left down to cross Allendale road, following road and track to join the Nenthead road back to Allenheads.

START TIME:  10am

Approx finish 1pm

Height. 200m ascent

Terrain: 5 miles; 3 stiles; mainly stony tracks and paved roads

Walks cost £1 to cover mountain rescue contribution.

Dogs:

Dogs are allowed on this walk but it does cross farmland and go through a couple of farmyards so

must be on leads.
