Starting Point:  Tunstall Reservoir Picnic Area Car Park 3 miles north of Wolsingham.

Walk Route: From Tunstall Reservoir Car Park, we walk around the northern shore before starting a steady climb up towards Salter’s gate.. Once at the top, we contour around the fence line of the old Salter’s Gate MoD site before crossing open moorland towards Waskerley Station.  After a break we follow good tracks to the road at Oxen Law.  Turning south, we follow the quiet road back to Salter’s Gate and down to the Reservoir.

Unfortunately there are no easy short cuts, but anyone wishing to return early can simply follow the track back down to the reservoir as the views walking in the reverse direction are excellent.
