Frosterley – Weardale Tuesday Walks- this walk is going ahead as planned

Walk Route: Meet at Frosterley Station car park we head east through village footpaths to Broadwood Crossing and into the fields beyond. At the top of Kingfisher Park the former Bishopley Branch line starts. A short ascent and walk takes us to Harehope Quarry. Using the path to the south, we meet again the Bishopley line at Wise Eel Bridge and on to White Kirkley. Onward path takes us through “Rocky Glen” and on to Bollihope. The walk covers an area rich in C19th industrial history.

Walks cost £1 to cover mountain rescue contribution
Terrain: Footpaths, styles, gate, grassy tracks and rough pasture.
Toilets: The nearest toilets are in Wolsingham, however a stop can be arranged in Frosterley if needed.
Equipment for this walk: Walking boots and socks, waterproofs, small snack and drink, walking poles or stick.
Dogs: Dogs are permitted on this walk.
Accompanied children under 16 and accompanied vulnerable adults are welcome
