Carr Brow Moor & Newhouse Moor – Weardale Tuesday walks – This walk is going ahead as planned

£1Carr Brow Moor and Newhouse Moor
Leaving the car park we cross the River Wear and begin a long and steady ascent across Carr Brow Moor up to Black Hill and an elevation of 2150ft. Wonderful views across the valley to Burnhope Reservoir and beyond. From there a steady descent along good tracks until we reach the river and then return to St Johns Chapel along the Weardale Way. A shorter option is available for those who do not want to complete the whole walk as planned.

Starting point:St Johns Chapel public car park just before St Johns Chapel coming from the east.on A689. ie auction mart car park near the Golden Lion pub.

Moderate walk mainly on good ground following marked paths with a couple of short sections on road.
