Broadwood Quarry and Harvey Hill

Important:  In the event of bad weather walks may be cancelled, changed or rescheduled for later in the same week so consult the weardale.uk website from 8am on the morning of the walk.  (We are often able to update the website to say if the walk is going ahead the evening before).

Walk Route: From Frosterley Station car park we walk through the village along the northside of the river Wear and use the footbridge to cross the Wear to Broadwood Quarry. After crossing the quarry we walk along the south bank of the river to the caravan site near Landieu Farm. A short steep climb to the south across farmland brings us to East and West Biggins Farm. Following the Weardale Way SW towards Harehope we then turn north towards wise Eel Bridge and return to the station car park.

Walks cost £1 to cover mountain rescue contribution

Terrain:  Footpaths, farm tracks, quarry and pasture.

Toilets: The nearest toilets are in Stanhope Dales centre or Wolsingham

Equipment for this walk:  Walking boots and socks, waterproofs, small snack and drink, walking poles or stick.

Dogs:  Dogs are permitted on this walk.

Accompanied children under 16 and accompanied vulnerable adults are welcome
