Examines the lead production process - finding the lead, mining, smelting and the lead trade in North East England - through the participation of the Bowes family in Teesdale for the period from mid 16th C to 1771, when the family mines were leased to the London Lead Company.  Also looks at relationships between the N East and London.  Download HERE
