Weardale Tuesday Walkers- this walk is going ahead as planned
From Stanhope Bridge to Snowhope
Important: In the event of bad weather walks may be cancelled or rescheduled for later in the same week so consult the www.weardale.uk website from 8am on the morning of the walk, before travelling.
WTW is a small, friendly walking group which meets on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of each month for walks in Weardale and its fringes between 4 and 7 miles long and with ascents up to 1000 feet. Everyone is welcome on our walks, local residents and visitors to the dale alike.
Walk Route: The walk follows the River Wear upstream to Hags Bridge and then climbs quite steeply up to Snowhope. The return is on good tracks and then a back road, passing some of the finest buildings in the dale. Half way up the ascent we have to negotiate an on/off sike but otherwise the mud is avoidable.
