Weardale Tuesday Walkers – This walk going ahead as planned

Bollihope to Carrs Top
Important: In the event of bad weather this walk may be cancelled or rescheduled for later in the week so consult the weardale.uk website from 8am on the morning of the walk, before travelling.
Walk Route: From the picnic site the walk climbs gently but at some length to the trig point at Carrs Top, then drops down into the Bollihope valley, with a section along the burn, to return to the starting point.

Starting Point: The Bollihope picnic spot (NOT the picnic spot below Hill End). From Stanhope drive about 3.5 miles until the road dips steeply down to the Bollhope Burn, just after a large quarry on the left. Park on the grass on the right

Walks cost £1 to cover expenses.
Terrain: This walk is over quad tracks, farm tracks and pathless ground. The descent into the Bollihope valley is steep and can be slippery.
Toilets: The nearest toilets are in the Durham Dales Centre, Stanhope
Equipment for this walk: Walking boots, waterproofs, small snack and drink, walking poles or stick, brimmed hat for sun protection, sun block.
Dogs: Dogs on a short lead are permitted on this walk.
Accompanied children under 16 and accompanied vulnerable adults are welcome.
